Board of Directors

Jennifer Krassinger • Founder and Executive Director

Jennifer has been a Registered Nurse working with pediatric and neonatal patients since 1999. She worked as a traveling nurse in the U.S. for many years before taking her current position in the Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco in 2007.

She loves working with experts in the field of neonatology and state-of-the-art technologies to save babies' lives. She also works closely with families of patients, helping them understand clinical conditions, treatments, and procedures. It’s working with the families of these precious little lives that led her to become the founder of GiFT. The struggle to keep a family intact while dealing with the raw emotions of having a critically ill infant can be overwhelming. Jennifer hopes to alleviate some of the stress associated with these heart wrenching moments in life.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and an Associates Degree in Nursing from Saint Louis Community College at Forest Park. She enjoys yoga, hiking, motorcycling in the woods, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Vanessa Davis • Board Member and family liaison

Vanessa Davis has been a Registered Nurse working with high-risk pregnant women, pediatric and neonatal patients since 1999. The majority of her nursing career she worked at St. Louis Children’s Hospital as a float nurse and St. Louis County Department of Health as a home visit nurse manager for high risk pregnant mothers. Currently, she works at Centene as a Clinical Nurse Trainer ensuring all medical and behavioral staff are fully trained to help support NICU and high risk OB(Obstetrics) members.

Working with families that are underserved, uninsured, or both has always been an important part of her career. She likes educating and empowering others to make better health decisions which lead to more healthy outcomes. The idea of her volunteering and working with the families that are part of the GiFT programs was a natural transition. She states “It is so rewarding seeing GiFT be that gleam of hope in such a challenging time for families.” Witnessing Jennifer’s vision and compassion made it an easy decision to volunteer and be a part of such a great cause.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, Zumba and traveling. In addition, she mentors to others, educates and does outreach concerning health to underserved communities.

Vanessa holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Lindenwood University, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Webster University and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Saint Louis Community College at Forest Park.
