Holiday Project Family #32

I am 3 month old and have spent my entire life in the NICU. When I was born, I weighed only 1 pound 8 ounces. Now, I weigh over 5 pounds but I have big hurdles to overcome before I'm ready to go home with Mom & Dad.

My heart is different than most babies and this week the cardiologists did a procedure to repair it. It seems to be working better now, my doctors and parents are so happy!

While I recover from my heart procedure, I'm trying to get get big and strong because I'll need another operation. My digestive track is not connected the way it should be and sometimes milk gets into my lungs. I've already had one operation on my belly but will need another before everything is working the way it needs to.

I'm a baby girl almost 6 moths old. I've come a long way. I only weighed 1 pound, 8 ounces when I was born. Back then, there was a machine that would breathe for me and my feedings came from a tube in my nose. I've had problems with my arms and legs too. I spent 85 days in the NICU.

Now, I can breathe on my own and I learned how to eat! I'm still having some problems with my feet but my arms and hands are all better. I LOVE being home with Mom & Dad.

I was born at 26 weeks and weighed only 1.5 lbs. I'm growing every day and now weigh 2.14 lbs! I will be in the NICU until my lungs are developed enough to breathe on my own. When I go home, I'll probably take my oxygen tank with me. My mom and older sister love coming up to visit me in the NICU. I can't wait to go home for good so that we can spend more family time together!

Holiday Project Family #30

I am almost ready to go home!   I was born very early and have been in the NICU since August learning to breathe well, eat and grow.  It looks like I will get to go home without oxygen or feeding tubes which makes mom very happy.  I now weigh 6lbs 10oz!

I have an older brother and two older sisters who can not wait for me to come home so they can give me lots of hugs and kisses.  My mom and dad are very excited they will have me home for Christmas.

Baby Brother and Baby Sister

Twins, twins, twins! We are brother and sister, born 2 months early and lived in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) for an entire month. We both had difficulty with feedings and sister still wears a monitor for her breathing. We love being home with our brothers, sisters, Mom & Dad. Our family has 3 sets of twins, two big brothers, and lots and lots of love to go around.

Holiday Project Family #33

I'm the youngest of three (3) sisters in my family. I've had feeding problems and spent time in the NICU where surgeons put a special feeding tube right in my belly. I came home with my family for a short time but because my feedings will not stay in my belly, I'm back in the hospital again. The doctors say that my milk could go into my lungs. This hurts me and makes me sad. I hope I can go back home soon to be with my 2 big sisters, Mom, and Dad.

My 2 year old sister is learning to walk and my 5 year old sister is learning her letters and numbers so she can teach me.

My being in the hospital has been hard on Mom and Dad too. Dad has been working hard and Mom will have to go back to work again soon.
